Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
TimeOut is a workout timer and workout builder app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Information stored on your device
TimeOut stores your workouts, exercises, app settings, timer history, and share history locally on your device. This information is used only to run the app features you choose to use.
TimeOut does not require an account and does not upload your workout database to a TimeOut server.
Workout sharing links
When you share a workout as a link, the workout data needed to import that workout is encoded inside the URL itself. Anyone who has that link may be able to import the shared workout.
The link may pass through the messaging app, browser, operating system, and hosting/CDN services used to open it. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
TimeOut uses Firebase Hosting to serve static link pages and this privacy policy page. The app does not operate a backend database for storing shared workouts.
Nearby sharing
TimeOut can share workouts with nearby devices using Bluetooth Low Energy. Nearby sharing transfers the workout share payload directly between devices.
On some Android versions, location permission may be required by Android in order to scan for Bluetooth devices. TimeOut does not use this permission to collect or track your physical location.
Permissions
TimeOut may request or use the following permissions:
- Bluetooth permissions, to send and receive nearby workout shares.
- Location permission on older Android versions, only because Android requires it for Bluetooth scanning.
- Vibration and wake lock, to support workout timer feedback and keep timer behavior reliable during an active session.
Analytics, ads, and sale of data
TimeOut does not include advertising, does not sell personal information, and does not use in-app analytics services in the current app implementation.
Deleting your data
You can delete workouts and exercises inside the app. You can also remove local app data by uninstalling TimeOut or clearing the app storage from Android settings.
Children's privacy
TimeOut is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when app features change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
